I got my new stand in today's mail. Turned out it was a pair of stands so I can have one to carry round and one for at home use (storing my kindle when not in use). Or one can be a spare in the case of one breaking or getting lost. Course they are well constructed of steel so I don't think they will break any time soon.

Thanks for the link lestatar. I've added some pics of it to my Photobucket album and put a link in the topic you gave a link to.

My best solution

Hi - I use one of the little travel neck pillows that are filled like bean bags. They are very light weight, and hold the Kindle up perfectly.

They work bed as well, where stands just topple over. Plus, when reading on your lap, they give a little extra height.

The one below is memory foam, but I use a lighter weight ones with little foam beads that I get at the airport.

^ hey interesting and clever So you basically just stand the K3 in between the ring? Keyboard blocked [irrelevant for how I use it] but that does seem like a terrific idea!

Thanks!

Interesting. Course the stand I have is fairly stable so that I haven't had problems with tipping over. I also lay the kindle on its side in the stand (sort of like landscape rather than portrait) though I don't change the text orientation, either on the mattress or the bedside table I have and then I can read while lying on my side in comfort. I think part of it's stability is that the stand is small at only a bit over 3" tall and has a fairly wide base (almost as wide as the Kindle).

How stable is it when you turn a page - does the Kindle try and flip over?

Personally I find reading with one hand and eating with the other easy enough, and because it is so light have no issues holding the Kindle whilst in bed but some ingeneous ideas for sure.

My Archos has a little pop out stand for use when on planes to watch films with.

Nope. Whether it's on my actual bed or on the night table when I press the button to turn a page the Kindle stays as steady as a rock. Best $5.00 plus s/h I ever spent on an accessory for my ereader.
