SN ...B7C here. I have noticed any excess heating around the power supply board. I have gotten two white screens when coming out of hibernation, but both were cancelled by bringing up the shutdown prompt.

Statistics

Does anybody think it would be useful to ask members of the entourage forum to submit their serial numbers, date of purchase, and whether there has been any problem with WSOD. This could be useful for anybody that wants to purchase a unit - if a trend show up indicating probable sequences that predict problems.

There's already a thread like that for the hibernation issue. Maybe we can add comments about white screen issues to that thread?

Syclone, how is yours? Still WSoD? Is Woot going to replace it for you?? (Just remembered this is Sunday, so you probably don't know yet! )

Being a "newby" on the forum, I'll go along with anything that makes sense. It would be nice to get an inkling of what serial #'s have a better chance of being WSOG proof

It looks like mine is definitely a hardware failure. I'll wait to hear from Woot - if they can't send a replacement, I'll look at the marketplace ebay, etc - that's where having a serial no. might help

Woot is great

I received a reply from Woot first thing this morning (Monday) asking me for details about the failure. I responded immediately. I received a second reply this afternoon at 3:00PM authorizing the return as well as supplying a prepaid label to attach to the package. They will be shipping a replacement. I hope lightning doesn't strike twice. I'll be back as soon as the replacement arrives. I've returned defective items to Woot before, but this is the first time they paid for the return. These guys are fast and efficient.

OMG! I'm starting to sound like a Woot Fan Boy.

Woot shipped a replacement PEdge as soon as they received confirmation that the defective unit had been dropped at the Post Office.

woot is awesome that way. I have a feeling they only sold about 50% of their PE stock.. probably holding the other 50% for 'just in case' warranty claims like yours LOL

The replacement Pocket Edge arrived today. Unfortunately, it arrived in NY and I'm currently in Knoxville, TN. We meet on Tuesday

If this one's a "keeper", I'll be taking advantage of all the great info that's been deposited in this forum.

bought one in june from Meijers online for my daughter's b'day that was yesterday. upgraded to ermine and played with it a little when it first arrived. I noticed yesterday she had the unit folded open all the way and was writing on the e-ink side. about an hour later the white screen came up and no joy since. reverted back to dingo using golden 5X but the white screen remains. no longer an option to send it in for warranty as the ph# is no longer in service. really sucks!

update: talked to Meijers customer service and explained the situation with entourage being out of business and it looks like they may replace it.

I try not to fold my screens together. for those that have opened up the pe is it a cause for concern?
