I, too, have done away with all those tiny tracks, and rip each disc as a single file - though WMA format. Obviously they all share the same artist and album, but the first disc should say "TITLE - Part 01", then "TITLE - Part 02", etc. One thing that is important is to batch tag the book "type" as Audiobook!
As the previous poster said, they all go in the same folder and transferred (if you tag it Audiobook as above, you can put it in Music and save the bookmarking function). |

If you continue having trouble with your Sansa, a really good, specialised Mp3 player forum to go to is: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/ . You will find forums there for almost every mp3 player you can think of, including the Sansa Clip.

If you "dragged and dropped", a copy should have remained on your main computer. Copying from one drive to another does not erase the "from" file. At least it doesn't on mine.
But, drag and drop, is the method I use. |

I use a Sansa Fuze for my audiobooks. It's 4GB one supplemented with a 4GB minicard.
For the Fuze, I need to make sure that the ID tag of the track shows as "audiobook", then it automatically gets filed in the Audiobook segment of the Fuze rather than getting mixed up with the music tracks. I make sure that the ID tag shows the track number and I make sure that the track file name is also numbered sequentially, e.g. "City of Ghosts Part 1", "City of Ghosts Part 2", or "01 City of Ghosts", etc. The books that I download from Audible via Audible Manager automatically go into the Audibles portion of the Audiobook section. The others I just drag and drop into the Audiobook section. It is essential, though, that you have the audiobooks' ID tags completed otherwise you wind up with files called "Unknown". ![]() Sansa has a pretty good forum of their own for their various devices; you might want to check that out. |

There are a couple of very large Sansa user forums where clip owners advise each other about this stuff. you might have better luck asking there.
one is here: http://forums.sandisk.com/t5/Clip-Cl...p/clipplusclip and one is here:http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...play.php?f=119 |

I have tried bulk renaming tracks to give a clear number in the file name but sometimes that does not work.
There is some free software available that will merge MP3 files so you can have two or three big MP3 files. However, this is only useful if the MP3 player remembers where it got to in the track As I listen to a lot of audiobooks in my car I now always use an Ipod, either a Classic or a Nano. This is because I find Playlists are the easy answer to this problem and these devises remember where I got to. Also the older Classic and Nano's have large click wheels so it is easy to use them to pause the audiobook while you are driving. Finally the 4th and 5th generation Ipod Classic contain the Wolfson Audio chip and I am convinced these give a nicer sounding voice that the newer Ipods. |

Here's a link to the best track tagging instructions on the internet:
Tag. You're It! In fact the whole site, Audiobook Addict, answers any question I can think of about audiobooks and mp3 players. Hope you find the site useful, I know I have. |
