Has anyone heard of dragontrail? Personally I'm hoping it leads to a glass arms race with lots of side-by-side torture test videos. If our tablets can't fill in for impromptu frisbee golf sessions, then we've still got a ways to go.

What's a Samsung Galaxy S Tab? There are Galaxy S, Galaxy S II, and I read that the Galaxy S III has been seen in the wild; but they're all phones.

Then there are Galaxy Tabs (in three sizes). The 7" versions have GG, but I don't about the other two.

But no, Virginia, there are no Galaxy S Tabs.

That's what I was going to say. But I really don't think it should be an over-riding qualification in selecting a tablet

You got that right -- my Dell Streak has 2 scratches on its screen just from some rough surface inside my briefcase. And I only noticed that that was the cause the second time it happened. Needless to say, I am not impressed with this Gorilla glass.

I agree, but it is nice to have the extra security.

I guess I was under the false impression that it was mostly scratch proof (at least under reasonable circumstances).

I was curious because if I decide to go with a seven inch tablet, I would like to be able to take it with me and not worry about getting a case. Can anyone attest to the durability of the Samsung Galaxy Tab screen? That's the closest device out right now that is somewhat "pocketable."

they are very difficult to scratch but not 100% scratch proof.

I've been carrying my naked 7" SGT in my front left trousers pocket (cargo shorts on weekends) daily since I got it in late January, with nary a single scratch on the screen. I normally wear dress trousers to work, so I’m not sure how it would fare with jeans.

That's what I thought, and why I think having Gorilla Glass is an asset. Every time I go into Best Buy, I stop and play with the 7" Galaxy Tab and talk myself out of buying one. I already have a big tablet, so I'm leaning towards one of these as sort of a take along device. It seems like a fun device that I really don't need, but definitely want

To be clear about it -- the scratches my screen has sustained are quite superficial and only visible from a certain viewing angle, or when the screen is off. It doesn't affect every day use. Still, I didn't expect this and it is bothering me. Well, in the end it will give me a good excuse to buy a new phone when something interesting comes up!

But nothing has ever happened to the screen in my jeans's front pocket. However, I do take care not to put any keys, coins, or whatever in there along with the phone.
