The US publisher is different, and does not create an ebook.

That's usually fine with paper books because, even if your local publisher does not offer the version you want (hardback, illustrated, etc.), you can always buy online a different version from another country. Unfortunately, that doesn't work with ebooks, unless you travel to the other country and open a bank account there.

Well, one book I want to get is £2.99 (~$4.78) for the ebook in the UK, and $19.99 for the same ebook in the US. Publishers often do stupid things.

And if you're in a country that doesn't speak native English, you're screwed both times. (more often than not).

One of the Melbourne libraries has a bunch of Roald Dahl ebooks available. I'm on the waiting list for a few of them, so haven't actually read one yet...
