Nice suggestion! I love the ideas you guys come up with.

You mention creating a custom column by going to "Preferences." I have done this in the past but, somewhere along the line, my Preferences option has disappeared. How do I get it to reappear? Have tried everything I could think of, but to no avail.

Yes, that's a good plan as well. I would do it if my ancient Kindle supported collections.

Uh, your profile says K2. The K2 has supported collections since the 2.5 firmware update. I don't use them myself (since there's never more than a handful of books at a time on my Kindle), but still... it's supported if I ever feel motivated enough (not likely).

Yes, I know. But I have a US-only Kindle, and I am not in the US, so I don't have any connectivity, so I can't download the firmware updates.

I know I can probably update the firmware in some other way (or wait until I next go to the USA), but I honestly can't be bothered.

Like you, I only have a few books on my Kindle at a time. I generally remove a book soon after I've finished it.

I understand completely. And it's not like you're really missing out on anything... based on your usage habits.

With the problems I've had getting Kindle Collection to work right I might just take the long term in deleting what I currently have on my Kindle as well. I am putting those I have read into a "Read" collection folder. Of course I'll have to update what books are where often and purge those I've read eventually, but it might work out easiest that way. Some I will keep for the long term anyway since they are reference books. And I don't know if I could get my monthly magazine Kindle files back if I did a factory reset on the unit.
