The app does still need work. On some books it's great, on others you find yourself waiting for pages to load (if they ever do) and the app doesn't remember your current page only the current chapter which can get quite annoying if you have limited time to read.

It does however work well enough to be worth using over the online only option.

Whether you choose library, 10 or 5 slot bookshelf depends on how much you'll read. I signed up for library when I needed to use a lot of books for reference but not actually read them all in detail. Whilst the 10 and 5 slot options are the one's i've used most months, usually the 5 slot when reading the entire books and 10 when I want to skim a few for new topics well worth the money if you want to read a lot of tech books and since it's a per month subscription you can jump in and out as you please.

It's a great service, just don't expect a kindle or iBook app reading experience as it isn't near that yet.

How about reading in off-line modus. Does that make up for a smoother experience? I would imagine the book would have to be cached which should improve the performance circumventing the net-lag.
That's what you'd expect, but sadly i've found offline to be pretty much the same.

I love that app Somehow the normal www safari interface on iPad becomes clumsy but the app resembles the same experience as a PC browser.

Maybe it is not fast etc but I do not care much. On iPad I read books - literally i.e. read page by page - just when I want to read about some topic. On the other hand on PC I usually use safari as a reference searching, trying etc.

iPad is not the best device for reading but I "upgraded" it to be such

Bought simple fitnes tool (not really usefull for fitness) http://www.domyos-fitness.com/EN/ab-...ser-17711056/#

but look what I can do with it and a piece cut from swimming gum:

now fit the iPad:

Believe me, the iPad screen is exactly where my eyes looks laying down and on excellent distance too I just love the relief it makes to my back tired of sitting all day behind the PC screen
