"Too small" is still subjective. I have the "pleasure" of using an iPad thanks to a grant program at my district, and I'll say that I can't stand reading on it because of the size and balance. I much prefer reading, even PDFs, on my NC. Then again, I used to read PDFs on my much, much smaller-than-10" iPhone (using GoodReader), so a small screen doesn't do me in so long as there's decent reflow... which my Sony didn't have. Between my iPhone, my Sony, "my" iPad, and my NC, the NC is a clear winner (for me, of course).

Really, the thing the OP needs to do is take the best suggestions and go play with the devices in hand. Once the feature sets are described, the rest is a matter of taste, which we can't account for.

Thanks for all your opinions. I ended up buying a Sony 350, figure got it for $100 from Borders. Just waiting for it to arrive. Figure atm I read pdfs on my iphone, so it'll be nice to have a larger screen! Around here, nowhere sells ereaders in store, so can't go and have a play, so frustrating!! Hoping this will be good enough, time will tell.
