It is actually about 12-14" or so, but that is what I meant. Everyone knows that the range of Bluetooth on the Nook Color is rather short, but the range is really fine for a feature that was not included by B&N at all. As you mentioned, the range is fine for keyboards and such, and the NC has a headphone jack for watching videos anyway. The short range is going to make Skype hard to use unless someone finds a way to improve the Bluetooth range.

Like Dave said, BT is a feature that B&N don't even acknowledge to exist, and probably with good reason. The range may be a limitation of the hardware, not something that can be programmed away. As is, the short-range BT overcomes one of the stock NC's greatest shortcomings: incompatibility with hardware keyboards.

If you really must be free to roam, get a BT relay.

Also, dalingrin's Nook Tweaks app may help you with speaker volume.

The NC's inability to recognize a microphone may be a bigger hurdle to Skype. Also, some devices (notably, game controllers) work at considerably greater distances, reported up to 10 feet.

I stand soon-to-be-corrected on mics and Skype:

I am digging in this today and so hopefully a "Working skype" video is forthcoming at the end of the day

I flush this on internal with the stable build with no overclock max of 925, I first use nightly and it's ok too. I install some Gameloft Apk like Asphalt 5 and 6(Adrenaline), Modern Combat, Nova2 HD, Brothers in Arms, those games run smoothly without overclocking. Market will be an issue because some apps are not compatible with the device so switch back to old market and some can be install. I like NY times for tablet but it's not compatible so I change the build.prop on manufacturer=Samsung, device=galaxytab, model=GT-P1000, whoah !! NYTIMES for tablet was installed and other apps...All I can say is there is so much tweaks to make on this NC CM7. Now I'm done except my Youtube keep buffering forever....btw, I set my density to 240 (I like it big) on build.prop (backup first)...Cyanogen 7 is so fast and I like the DSP Manager....
