I realize this was a Mac question, but i had problems with my 950 and a Windows 7 64-bit PC wherein the 950 was never recognized by that computer but was always recognized by my Windows XP netbook. Interestingly enough the Windows 7 64-bit PC that never could recognize my 950 always recognized my 350. It was really frustrating and I was never able to resolve the issue. Sony CS was useless and everything I tried failed. I no longer have the 950, not because of that issue though.

And of course, pull out the USB hub and plug straight into the computer, but someone else already said that. ![]() |

Problem solved
Just thought I'd let everyone know the outcome.
I rang Sony and they were really helpful. The first guy told me to uninstall and reinstall the Reader Library software. That didn't work. The second guy went away and spoke to the 'tech people' who said the only reason they could think that it wouldn't be working was because the computer was operating in 64-bit mode. He told me how to restart the computer in 32-bit mode (hold down 3 and 2 buttons while computer is turning on) and everything has worked beautifully since, with the Reader now showing up in Reader Library and DRM items now able to be moved from the computer to the reader. So problem solved. Thanks to everyone who suggested solutions. I hope this information will help someone. |

I have two Sony Readers and two computers with Reader Library installed on them and they both work perfectly. AND they are both running 64 bit Windows (Windows 7 and Vista), and I'm sure there must be countless others out there running Reader Library perfectly with 64 bit operating systems. So whilst this may have solved your problem (and I'm very pleased for you) this is not the real answer. |

Don't worry guys I have nothing against Apple products, it was just a bit of fun that's all.
![]() I'm the proud owner of an iPhone 4 and an iPod Classic, both great products in my opinion. I've never used a Mac but I'm sure they are good too. As you say it's the Sony software that's at fault if this is a common problem when running on a Mac. |

Good grief, I finally made it work.
![]() So, today I am trying to connect my pretty new Boox to my iMac, and it's not working. The Mac will mount the drive, then immediately boot it, giving me the "you didn't eject your device properly, nyah nyah nyah" error. Over and over and over again. Tried different USB ports, tried different cables.... Of course, I plug it into my MacBook Pro, it mounts just fine. Finally, I yank the cable from my USB hub, and, plug the Boox in, andof course, it mounts right away!. I plug in the Sony 950, I still get an ERROR in Sony Library. Knowing what I know from this thread, I reboot the iMac, holding down the 3 + 2 keys, and open Reader Library. Plug in the 950, and voilá! It Works!!! ![]() |
