Ultimately, however, the eReader Touch Edition has one fatal flaw: it's not as good as the Nook. The software can be a bit slow at times, and after using the Nook at length, it's hard to deny that physical page-turning buttons would be a nice option. Had Barnes & Noble not introduced the device and beaten Kobo to market, the eReader would be a serious contender for the title of the best devoted e-book reader on the market. As it stands, however, the device can't quite match up to the competition.
In other words, the Kobo is the best reader you can get if you live outside the US.

I guess for me, the kobo wins in the nook versus kobo war is because the unique flavor DRM that BnN uses is a complete no-go, and the exclusion of 3/4 of the on board memory of the nook is for BnN exclusive books. I simply will never use that memory until BnN stops the BS of using their own DRM because I refuse to buy books from BnN with their DRM. Yes I know I can still strip the BnN DRM off the books, but it is a step backwards in the fight for unification. That, and if I strip the viral BnN DRM off the BnN ebook purchases, I will have to load it in the 1/4 memory "allowed".

I buy most of my books from kobo now, because even though they use DRM, it is the ubiquitous inept adobe, and they have good prices and selection.

That said, my Sony 650 is still working perfectly and will likely wait for September and see what Sony has to offer.

"ubiquitous inept" Is this a slam against Adobe's DRM or a spelling error since they refer to their DRM as ADEPT .

i know the options of only 2 fonts is off-putting for some, but kobo said that in a firmware update for the KT more font selections will be available!!
