I hope you do too. Like I said, I ordered two PEs, one for me and one for my son. Both are taking crystal clear pictures. Of course, both of them were upgraded to Ermine on Day One immediately after registering them. If you decide to upgrade disable Screen Timeout (Power Widget) and set Wi-Fi to Never Turn Off When Plugged In and everything should go smooth. The registration process forces you to download the Dingo update but you have to manually install it. I installed it on one PE and didn't install it on the other and the upgrade turned out the same either way. Good luck.

I have both under Settings - Applications - All, but only one in my application tray on the PE. Neither can be uninstalled. It's possible the Ermine/Froyo update should have uninstalled/replaced (completely) the older one, but failed to do so.

OK, so here's what you have to do:

- Do NOT click on the address bar for the website you're currently displaying. That is not the link to the image itself, that's the link to the page you're currently on. This forum can't insert "the page you're on" as an image.

- Instead, click on the upper right where it says "Share this photo." You have a couple of different choices that will work from there. The simplest is to click on the very bottom code option: IMG code. That will copy not only your direct link, but also the IMG and /IMG tags around it. Then you just have to paste into your response. (Don't use the buttons to insert a picture. Just paste it as text right into your message.)

Even better:
Go into your settings (I'll come back and edit to post instructions in a minute) so that one of your options in those list of code snippets will be "Thumbnail" and use THAT snipped to paste here into the board. Otherwise, the picture you insert here will be full size, probably larger than a regular message window. No matter what the size of your original picture, a small thumbnail version will show up in your post, then people can click it if they want to see it full size. (They'll be taken to that page that you're viewing the photo on in Photobucket.)

BRB with the instructions to add Thumbnail to your settings.

OK, here's what you want to do:

- get into your Account Settings by clicking on your username in the top right (it's clickable, with a downward pointing arrow. From there, you can choose Account Settings)
- you'll find yourself in the personal information tab by default, but click on the next one, Album Settings
- The last set of options in Album Settings is Link Options. You can play around with these as you like, but for sure you want to make sure "IMG Thumb" is enabled, for posting here. I personally have all of them checked except flash.

(And, it's a matter of preference, but I have "Link back to my albums" checked, so that people can click on my thumbnail and get to the full picture page. And I also have "Show links in my albums" set to "Only on mouse-over." Otherwise, your albums have more code than pictures on the page!)

Yes there are two Camera programs showing up. The first one is Version 2.2.1 which I assume was installed with Ermine. It doesn't appear to actually being used because when you go under Manage Applications the Data usage shows 0 KB. However, the other one is Version 1 which I assume is the original program is showing Data usage. There is an option to Force Stop both applications. maybe you could try and Force Stop the one showing data usage (since these pictures are turning out green) and see if it defaults to the other installed program.

Thanks Boris. My thoughts exactly. I can't help but wonder if that is causing the problem. What I found was that launching the app launched both of them. I couldn't find a way to launch only one.

My PE has two Camera apps and is taking photos perfectly fine.

My EE also has two Camera apps and has no green or purple tint to the photos, but they look sort of pixel-grainy from some angles (which may be normal since this isn't the world's greatest camera?).

Oh hey, when you snap a few photos and then go look at them in the gallery, are you seeing two identical sets? I am. Would that suggest that both camera apps are running simultaneously?

Sounds like they are both running at the same time. I only see one photo on my PE. Like I said, there are two Apps listed Version 1 and Version 2.2.1 (Android Anyone?). Version 1 is showing Data Usage under Application Info. Version 2.2.1 is showing NO Data Usage. There is a Force Stop Option that you might try to close Version 2.2.1 and see what happens.

There is a Force Stop Option that you might try to close Version 2.2.1 and see what happens.

I tried that yesterday, to no avail. What happened was that I couldn't get back to the running app with out relaunching from the icon.

Verified that my camera preview of a picture (live display) is in perfect colour, then snapped a green picture. I do have 2 camera apps listed, and both are listed as "running."

UPDATE: I force closed both apps, then went to the app screen and started camera. Before doing anything, I checked under "manage application" to see which apps were listed as running, and only Camera Version 1 is listed as running.

I do not have duplicate copies of images in the gallery.

I took a picture, then went back to check my list of apps running, and now both Camera apps are running.

PS is picture taking now slow as molasses for everyone else? My exprerience:
- press the camera button
- after a second, preview freezes still
- after a couple of seconds, preview is completely dark/black
- after maybe even as much as 8 seconds of darkness, I hear the camera noise, and a picture has been taken.

I don't even get a preview... just a solid green screen.
