Problem solved. Except that the "person" now writing both of their posts sounds/reads like a third (and possibly fourth) personality...

You're a schizophrenic. No - you are! Both of you shut up - none of us are schizophrenic.

My guess is that this all came about when dontpanic moved boris to a smaller cubicle at the Entourage office.

I could only dream of a cubicle. I assume a janitorial closet doesn't qualify as a "cubicle"? Anyway, dontpanic is a proper gentleman and would never suggest a smaller cubicle. Snow, on the other hand...

Saw this today: http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/15/n...und-wednesday/. Seems the FCC hurdle has been cleared.

It'll be interesting to see if customers find the Adam to be everything they hoped for, or if it's been hyped so much for so long that the real thing is anticlimatic.

I like all the Adam fans saying it's essentially a 3.0 tablet, since Notion Ink has promised to upgrade as soon as it comes out. Notion Ink has such a good track record of fulfilling their promises.

The single device that we've seen on independent video is pretty impressive in its ability to make apps slide back and forth on the screen, I'll grant that. Unfortunately, that will get old within about ten minutes. I'm sticking with my gTablet, which has similar guts for less money (except for the PQi screen).

That PQi screen can make all the difference, Chubulor. Sort of like if all Apple did for the Ipad 2 was just put in a camera or two, it would still be sold out for months on end. Heck, just look at the insanity that followed the news of Verizon finally getting the Iphone 4 at CES!

I was really on the fence about getting a Viewsonic G-Tablet until I started reading more stories about a product recall be because the shell software was abysmal and too many people complained that Viewsonic put no thought into it at all; making it cumbersome and unnecessary. At this point, my faith in Notion Ink has fully restored (thanks to how well Rohan handled CES and how much he actually cares about the NI fanbase on the company blog by personally shipping Adams to his most supportive and loyal bloggers) and I'll eventually be one of the Adam carrying "pseudo-elite" come the Spring.

There was no product recall; Staples just took it off their shelves because they were getting a lot of returns. Viewsonic put out a software update in late December that fixed most of the bugs and the tablet is blazing fast now. Plus, it's easy to get a custom ROM for it on XDA.

I'm interested in purchasing the G-tablet. I was about to buy one at Sears last week but I noticed that the picture http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00382001000P would suggest that it is perhaps the Viewpad 10. The specs seem like the G-Tablet though... When I called up Sears I couldn't get any real answers from them. The nearest Sears which had one was a good 50 minute drive and I just didn't have time to do it. What do you think?

It's the G-Tablet. Look at the Model Number next to the image; that, and the ViewPad 10 runs Google Android 1.6 like the eDGe does.

Yeah, I realize that. But they've got the wrong pic up there. They are supremely unhelpful on the phone as well.

I went to a Sears store so a salesperson would get a commission, rather than ordering online and having all the money going to the corporate HQ. The first one I went to was supposed to have some left in stock according to the website, but the snot-nosed high schooler I approached just said "if it's not on the shelf, we don't have it" and repeated this line after I asked him if he could check the store room to make sure they really didn't have it. I said to myself, all right dweebster, you just lost a big commission. The next morning I went to a different store, and again had to coax the rep to actually look in the stock room, where he found one.

Just a terrible company left and right.

Excellent punchline. Not so much the (long) story.
