How do I download the Adobe Digital Edition

The necessary fiddling involved, in my case, just making sure that I had correctly entered my Adobe Digital Editions ID in the OverDrive app, as you described earlier. At first only audio books were showing up in my search--not sure why--but I kept searching for books I knew were available and was finally able to download one. After that, the only problem I encountered was finding an ebook I wanted to read that didn't have a waiting list.

The downside to using OverDrive--a big one for me, given the eye strain--is that you'll only be able to read it on the LCD screen. To see the book on the reader side, you'll need to use the old-fashioned method of downloading it to your PC/Mac first, then transfering it to your eDGe. Thankfully, once you've checkd out the ebook from the public library, you can download it as many times as you want, so if you download it directly to OverDrive and don't like reading on the LCD screen, you can use the other method and download it using Adobe Digital Editions.

Yep, it's highly likely I mis-typed my ID or password the first couple of times.

Try using your file manager to browse to and open the book selecting library. It may work the same way opening a Nook download works.

I had the same thought, but the files won't open. You get the same error message you'd get if you were trying to open a DRM-protected file without having gone through Adobe Digital Editions.
