Collections are very important to me. I have list of CURRENT read, books READ, SF collection, SHORT STORIES collection, ESSAYS collection, PHILOSOPHY collection, POETRY collectionand author collections like DH LAWRENCE, PROUST, VIRGINA WOOLF. But on two occasions when updating my library my collections have disappeared on the reader when disconnecting from PC and have had to re-enter - which is very frustrating, especially as Sony software goes slowly on the PC.

Yarrow before you unplug your reader from the USB cable, make 100% sure it's done transferring and then either close Connect or eject the Reader from connect. And once the "I'm possibly transferring data" icone on the reader screen goes away, then unplug from the USB. I messed up my collections once when I unplugged too soon.

What Xenophon said: All my books go to the SD Card, period. If collections worked on the memory cards, I'd be down on it in a heartbeat. Since it doesn't, no....

I loved using Collections through libprs500, until my Reader would lock up while browsing through some of the stored Collection lists.

Mention this as a possible bug so it can be fixed.

I've never had more than 20 files on my Reader at any one time, so I've never had a good reason to use Collections. Besides that, I'm frequently hooking my Reader up to the computer to remove and add books, so I don't see a need to have everything so organized when there is such high traffic on my Reader's library.

Just added a ticket on the libprs500 site. I'll have to recreate my Collections and see if I can repeat the lockup.

Yes, I definately use collections to order by type (Classic Fiction, Contemporary Fiction, Travel & Adventure, Biography etc.) For ease of use, I stick to 10 collections in total, and certainly couldn't operate the device without; I'm desperate for it to work with the SD card too.

I've currently 158 books in internal memory - which is jammed to the brim - and a further 39 on the SD card. I've also an additional collection within ConnSoft called "Not Yet Transferred to Reader".

When I've read a book - always from a collection and thus from internal memory - I make a decision as to whether I want to keep it around, in which case I transfer it to the SD card, or discard it (it probably works out about 50/50, in which case I've read around 70-80 books on the reader in the past 9 months, although I'm still reading paper as well).

Having got rid of a book or two, I'll then fill up again, but I find that - being so full - transfers and housekeeping using ConnSoft is *extremely* slow, and that the "Free Space" value is pretty inaccurate.

as said before, to cumbersome to use it. I try to save the books with info: writer, title and group/display them based on authors
