The REAL, but not official, reason: It's a cool gadget!

I did not expect it to be so good for me as it has been though. The "gadget" part soon was forgotten when I lost myself in book after book, after having so much problems reading paper books the last few years.

The reason I may be getting the next one: It's a cool gadget! Hey, I can read just as well on the ones I have, but who doesn't love new cool gadgets?!

Me too!

Only I read it at home since I have no commute. I wanted to carry my fanfic with me, be able to read around people without worrying about the racy covers or illustrations, and not have to read off of a computer or laptop screen.

Professionally published books are just icing on the cake.

I got the first one because it will let me keep accumulating books even though my house is full. I got the others because they are cool gadgets.

Every room in my house had books stacked here & there. I had 12 bookshelves in a very small house so every wall was a book shelf. So I got an e-reader to stack my books in. What I didn't realize would happen after getting one e-reader was it was addictive. I love being able to get books right away...& I like reader gadgets.

Perfect summation. My eBook reader got me back into reading, something I had been missing.

The reason
I couldn't have access to the books i wanted to read.
Long waits for shipping and overpriced.
In the long run, with only 7 books bought here I could buy a Kindle in the US. (my sis brought when she went on vacation).

The (Secret) reason:
I luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuv my kindle ._.

Because apparently real books can harbor bed bugs. NYC is going through a bed bug epidemic and it's spreading to surrounding areas. I don't go to movie theaters either (but that's partly because most movies don't interest me and the limited money I have I'd rather be used to buy ebooks)

The official reason is that an article in a newspaper showed instructions on how to borrow ebooks from the library, which turned out to be Overdrive because to be honest, I didn't really pay attention to the article.

The real reason? It was an impulse buy. The article featured a picture of the iPad and I decided that I was going to buy one. And I bought it right on the same day.

The reading of ebooks is a bonus really. A huge bonus, but still a bonus nonetheless.

Because reading Les Misérables on the bus makes me look like a nerd. But reading it using a gadget looks cool

+1. Except now, I've had other people wanting to look at my reader so I always have Shakespeare or some bestseller to switch to so they don't get scandalized.

Guilty pleasure reason: to save and read fanfic at will, wherever I am, without having to be connected to the Web.

Practical reason: a small apartment that doesn't have enough room for all the DTBs we already have (think stacks on the floor). I'm hoping to replace most of these with e-books as opportunity and finances permit.

Fun reason: I love having all sorts of personal documents on my Kindle. Recipes... class notes... saved webpages... anything that strikes my fancy, and/or that I'd like to have a portable version of.

Backup reason: Having the Kindle 3G means that I have free roaming capability on the Web when away from home.

Well my ereader was a gift but now that I have it, I think my reason for owning it is to gain access to all books instantaneously.
