Sounds like you need a spam filter for the ticket system to filter out commonly reopened tickets

It's a weighing and balancing thing: who's more annoying, the people who complain about the installer taking too long or those who complain about it not saving non-default user-controlled settings? I'd rather have it take as little time as possible, and people who want different options than default can take the extra time themselves to click through the advanced menu (I was one of those who has been thrilled with the decreased installation time in recent months) - but maybe if I were one of the people who used non-default settings I'd be singing a different tune.
Then again, personal interests aside, my guess would be that more people simply accept the defaults than use the advanced menu, so you'd probably make more people happier (or fewer people whiny) by keeping the install as quick as possible than by adding this code. |

We'll see. On my windows VM it takes an additional 2 seconds for this phase, but then the checking disk space also take about 6 seconds. Let's see what happens for more people in the next release.

I fail to see what is the big deal about the installer putting an icon on the desktop. I takes me all of one second to drag it to the recycle bin.

Yes, but, while I understand the reason for having it activated by default, I find it annoying. I don't want programs to litter my desktop with icons.

I agree. And while I have the Calibre icon on the desktop, I change the text associated with it, and the installer "fixes" that every time. So this change is a definite plus for me.
