believe it or not - i can reproduce that,!

using a spare feather donated by one of my budgies, I drop it onto the screen & off we go - pages go galloping by...

now it does not happen with every feather drop from every possible height but there is definite cause & effect.

so much for needing a swiping motion- the feather must be light enough to jiggle & fool the device!

Interesting... it seems my pages swipe when I don't intend them to swipe (minuscule feathers or fruit flies or whatnot), but sometimes they won't swipe when I attempt to swipe them. One thing my kindle app (droid x) does that I love is it lets me tap on the right side of the screen and the page turns. I wish I could do that on the 650 rather than swipe.

it seems impossible to imitate the "feather controll" i.e. to rest a finger very lightly on screen , as if it is a feather, & cause page turns.

With a finger it needs a proper swipe motion, yet with a falling feather, off it goes...

seems illogical.

Think of how a feather falls though. It doesn't drop straight down like an object with any weight to it. Instead it drifts, often floating left to right (or right to left) before finally coming to a rest. It's that drifting motion that sets off the page flip, then lands fully and keeps on flipping.

I'm with you up to "..keeps on flipping". why does the flipping continue, all the way to end of book. If do a fingerswipe & then leave my finger on screen I don't get continuous page turns ?

You do. Make the swipe a ittle longer and then hold. Voilà, multiple pageturns

It comes with practice. You only need a tiny swiping motion, but it takes some time to practice.

It's a definite intended feature so you can advance pages quickly when you want. Only takes a small swipe for me and then just keep my thumb on the screen to keep advancing.
