Thanks for the links, I will say that earthquake building codes are only as good as the people who choose or do not choose to follow them, we could very easily have a global earthquake code, and in fact we do, why don't some nations follow these regulations???
One reason is lack of skill, how to obtain the needed skills to build earthquake proof buildings?? Or rather how to get people with the earthquake proofing skills to the places where earthquake proof buildings need to be built?? A bit more abstractly, why don't we all just live in small huts, or caves? |
