It was there, I swear! I thought 'wow, that's great, wonder if it'll still be there when I change to mobi.' But it wasn't

There was never a battery metter when you read a book. The Library have one, but not the book reader...

Nope, it was at the bottom of the page while reading a book. On the bottom left I had the battery meter and on the bottom right I had a page number listed as #/out of # pages, e.g. 15/488. I thought it was really neat. Unfortunately it went away when I switched to mobi. Now I have the battery meter when in library mode and a progress bar while reading a book.

Hi there, I've just ordered one of the Opus e-readers. I'm picking it up tonight, are you all serious when you say you can't bookmark your books on it??

It remembers where you are in each book you are reading.

If you do a full shut down (long press on power button) while reading, it will start with that book, ready for you to open and start reading where you left it. It may take a few minutes to boot from scratch if you have many books stored.

If you do a quick shut down (quick press on power button) while reading, it will start with that book open, ready for you to instantly start reading where you left off.

The quick shut off is the same as the auto shut off, that activates after a preset time.

If you don't wake the Opus upp in 24 hours, it will automatically do a full shutdown.

Ah I see. My mistake, so they mean extra bookmarks within each book?

Got you. Thank you for clearing that up, I was beginning to worry then.

Yes. You can only have one "bookmark" for each book. And that is the last position you had open in that book,

I don't know if mobi is the same as ePub on the Opus, but I can put multiple bookmarks in a book while reading in mobi.

There are times when I want to page back to find something I may have missed, so I bookmark where I am, then page back. When I've found the passage I was looking for I can then return (via the menu) to the last bookmark I entered to save on page turns.

No, it's not the same. The Mobi firmware supports bookmarks; the ePub firmware doesn't. Somewhat inexplicable.

The Orizon does support bookmarks in ePUB, though... I hope that feature is back-ported to Opus and Gen3 eventually.
