updating my reading, 52% done ( at least that's what the kobo says)

i am loving this book, it's pretty good. exactly what i look for in books, fun! can't wait to continue reading tonight. the gun porn can get a bit overwhelming at parts but it's kept to a minimum. i don't know anything about guns but from the descriptions i can get a good sense of what they look like and how they function, it really doesn't hinder the story in any way for me.

Spoiler:
I like how they go on a mission, which by the way are way more brutal than expected. very cool stuff. then z has his dreams and meets with the old guy, and views the early days of the cursed one and reports to the others. they almost don't seem to trust him just yet or do but reluctantly yet he comes through every single time for them. can't wait to continues as i said, i just finished the part with the gargoyles and i can only imagine that situation..crazy. the images i get from the descriptions are very vivid, when z gets tossed from the van and slides along the pavement (as a superbike racer would when he bails), z didn't have any protective padding and i could see the his torn flesh in my mind. going backwards from where i am, the freighter scene was absolutely awesome and insane and had that one huge twist ( i won't put what or when it occurs) but it was awesome. from that freighter scene alone you get a good sense of what they're up against and i keep thinking to myself how they'll get through all of this. good stuff.

I recommend MHI to anyone I know who likes to read. So far I haven't found anybody that didn't like this book, and that includes my daughter and my liberal sister-inlaw from up north.

I've got one of paperbacks that he self published and it is getting pretty worn out from all the folks that have read it. I would have to say that if there is one word that sums up this book it is fun.

I tend to like the gun porn and Z's shotgun is another character in the story, but it isn't really too overdone.

When you finish MHI here is a link to a short story set in the same universe that you might like. I recommend finishing MHI first or it will give away some of the surprises.

Spoiler:

Without going into any details one of my favorite parts of this book is his treatment of elves. If you haven't gotten to that part yet you are in for a treat.

I love this series as well.

I've already bought the August webscription just so I wouldn't forget to grab the third book in the series.

It is. Also "Hard Magic" by the same author is pretty good so far (I'm at the 1/2 mark on that one)

The first half of the third book in the series is up for those who bought the August webscription.

So far it's another good read, though it's only been featuring Earl rather than the entire MHI.

ya i figured that it would with it being called alpha.
you get a hint of it when he mentions harbinger being the alpha wolf, king of wolves, a couple of times in vendetta. and same for vendetta when he mentions it a couple of times in MHI #1.

pretty cool though, i'll wait until it's fully released and get it in july.

It's on my TBR list, so I may start it next. Also the references to Bruce Campbell are encouraging, as I'm a fan of his too.
