i've had thishappen since day 1, going on 3 years ago, and i've had more than 1 firmware. my gen3 has never made it to 50% ever - it bricks after 70% till a very full charge.

I regularly manage to get down as low as 40% before I remember to charge ... One of the 'drawbacks' to not having the meter on display whilst reading ....

So now I have my Opus and I only use my Gen3 as a back up/2nd reader. With regard to the Gen3, either it's not charging properly, or that meter isn't right, or power is leeching out of it somehow. I suspect it's the meter because last week it went from 100% to completely dead in one hour! I thought it was odd that it hadn't asked to be charged for almost a week. I should've suspected something....DUH!
But I'm glad I'm not the only one that had problems with the Gen3 doing weird things once it hit 70%. Thanks, Basschick. It's nice to have company with the same problem. --Jan. |
