i am currently in the process of converting 8k+ epubs to mobi for a family member's k3 ... I started before i went to bed last night, about 12:30 am. it is now 9:01 pm, and i am on 6223 and 6224 with 2640 left to go. so that averages ~ 537.2 conversion per hour. i figure it has about 5 hours left ... which will put us at about the 26 hour mark.
10 hours longer than the average would suggest.

desktop stats:
intel c2d 7400 (2.8 ghz)
4x2gb ddr2 (8gb total)
250gb wd sata hdd (reading / writing on same drive)
win7 x64

normally, my cpu would be clocked up to 3.5ghz, but i didnt want it running full blast all night long. one fan seizure and it would be toast.

I also have the problem where all the error boxes stack up and require a mouse button press to dismiss each one.

I'd like to suggest a better way of doing things. When multiple errors occur serially, they should be queued and listed in a window. There could be a button to dismiss all or save all to a text file so I can deal with them later. The DRM warnings could be in the same window, or there could be another one for them.

How does this fit into this Old Thread? Please start a new thread for new topics, calibre evolves so fast reactivating an old thread frequently confuses the issue.
