My daughter didn't even learn how to write cursive. They don't teach it anymore.

I think knitting, which is a very old fashioned thing to do, while I am reading an ebook, qualifies.

But disposable pens are ridiculously cheap - you can buy 60 bic pens for $5 on Amazon...and nicer retractable pens are something like $10 for 12.

I started wearing shirts with pockets that had a pen slot. That way, is really easy to not lose a pen. Plus when I got a bag for my netbook (which I pretty much carry everywhere), the one I picked out had penloops in it.

That really is a shame. There would be no way I could keep up when writing notes in class if I had to print it all.

I have a friend who is a teacher and she mentioned the same thing about not teaching cursive writing in schools anymore. How very sad. This is an art that should not be lost. I'm afraid that my grandchildren will never learn how to sign their own name.

Pencils! I wrote all of my papers for undergrad in longhand, with a pencil, on legal pads. I can write faster than I can type when it comes to getting my ideas down.

Interesting. They still teach it here, I was just helping my nephew (3rd grade) with some writing homework a couple of days ago.

In my bag, I always carry the one kind of moleskine notebook that contains music paper. In it, I write the music I hear in my head on the bus and in reception areas -- whenever I'm made to wait. It's the reason I never do crossword puzzles: Because I could be writing music instead.

Finale just isn't as fun on the road as pen and paper. Perhaps tablets will change that eventually.

I don't buy music to download, but still prefer to buy CDs. However, I do rip them and play them via a Sonos system. I don't really know if CDs are analogue enough for the question of the OP

I was a late in switching from vinyl, but CDs really are so much more convenient.

I buy vinyl and then digitise it on my computer with an M-Audio Delta. Not sure where that puts me.
