Regarding the jetBook+,

I looked at the manual for the Aluratek Libre Air (found on the website) and it DOES look good with the rounded corners. The page turn "slider" has been replaced by 2 buttons, and the new navigation pad is interesting. BUT -- the Libre Air also has a calendar/clock; this will probably make library e-books expire... I am assuming that the jetBook+ will also have a calendar/clock.

So the question is -- sleek look with a clock? or boxy corners with unlimited time?

(On a different note -- we picked up a Libre Pro for my husband this week, and we are comparing our ereaders to decide which one to get for the kids.)

Did you mean to post that the Libre AIR has a calendar/clock? The Libre Pro doesn't that I can see - although lately the Overdrive library books do expire after the check-out period. In the past I thought they stayed open until I connected to ADE.

Thanks Wandalynn -- I corrected my post. I now know that I shouldn't type late at night!

Oh, but the most interesting posts are typed late at night!

Not sure if others have had the same experience with library books expiring on the Libre Pro, but if they have, there's no reason to choose the Pro over the Air. I noticed the change around the time the 'library books on your time' work around quit working. I haven't read any other posts about this.

Here's the link to the nookboards thread about library books (see post #168)

http://www.nookboards.com/forum/inde...topic=4205.160

It's not relevant to the Libre Pro and expiring books, just to changes in Overdrive book files expiring on the computer. But the Overdrive changes may have ended the Libre Pro free ride, too.

Can anyone else confirm that this library lending has changed for the Libre Pro or the Jetbook? I can understand how library books stored on the PC will expire, since the PC has a clock. But if you download the books into your ebook reader, why would they expire, since the reader does not have a clock (unless you synch it)? Does the Nook discussion apply to our ereaders (I thought the Nook always had an internal clock)?

This is the only reason I have not migrated to other ereaders that have more features, the whole clock business.

Doesn't look like any change for my Libre Pro. I just checked - opened an expired library book fine. The time-shifting expiry that Nook users exploited never worked for me. I'm still on the original firmware, if that makes a difference, although I might finally upgrade since links are supported now.
