I've never really got into the Honor Harrington series. Read the first and got about half way through the second. But really like the Vorkosigan books, even the first two which were almost too much 'Romance'.

The technical descriptions in the first one were a little off-putting at first, but once I got into the actual story, and started learning about, not only Honor, but the people around her, I was hooked. My problem was that I read them way too quickly. So, by the time I was maybe a quarter of the way through book 10, I just got burned out.

That was about 4 years ago; they've been calling me back to them.
