Not sure why this would be a surprise to anyone. EVERY book from Kobo has DRM, from what I can tell, including those from Smashwords that are DRM-free elsewhere. Kobo and Borders are essentially identical (Kobo "powers" the Borders store).

In this particular case, it isn't a self-published book or one from Smashwords. Which pretty much guarantees DRM in all stores (except for a very few publishers).

In any case - no longer free, anywhere.
