It's been a couple of months since I tried to connect my PRS-950 to my MacBook Pro. My husband saw my frustrations with the mess and bought me an iMac Desktop. My 950 works beautifully!!!! Haven't tried hooking up my 350 or my 600 up to my new computer yet. With my luck, the two readers probably won't connect. So for now, I'll just use my laptop for the 350 and the 600. My 950 will now be the only child..... And yes, I do need to hold down 3 2 on my keyboard when I start my computer up so that it is working in 32 bit instead of 64 bit.
I want to "THANK EVERYONE" for your help and support. THANK YOU!!!!
Now I have another problem, does anyone have the screen savers for the 950? I kind of liked them and the Sony Rep had me erase them when I was on the phone. If some one could e-mail them to me, I'd really appreciate that! And thanks again.

I'm glad that it is working for you now! What a nice hubby!

Sorry, I don't have the 950 screensavers. I deleted them a long time ago.

katojenist,

I have a PRS-950 and the remaining original images I have are: Palm Tree, Eiffel Tower, and Snowy Road. There was a line drawing of a coffee cup which I deleted, and I'm not sure what else, maybe five in total. PM me if you would like me to email you the three images I have.

I made my own screen saver using Calibre. This is just a sample. My actual screen saver has my name and telephone number (Took this advice from airline employee on this site that posted airlines not allowed to turn on electronic devices to find owners).

I plug my Sony PRS 950 right into the side of my MacBook and it works great. Has from day one. I am assuming you also have the Sony Reader software stuff loaded onto your Mac, right?

Yep, I have the Sony Reader software on my MBP. It still to this day does not connect. Although my 350 and my 600 connect just fine. I do have an IMac now that my 950 connects to after I hold down the "32" keys while rebooting. Who knew that I needed to buy a different computer to accommodate my fickle 950? Hmmmmm!

Have you tried using Calibre instead of Reader for MAC?
