When ereaders get "unbreakable" displays, that's when they'll really take off; especially in the classroom.

I'd be happy if they came out with Readers that don't go from four bars battery life to zero over night.

As stated in my post azlk the new chips that will be used for the new models will not let you down in that department. The new chips have a lower power requirement making the batteries last longer.

This is no normal behavior. Do you leave it tethered to your computer overnight? Because when your computer goes into sleep mode, it drains the battery of the reader.

Must be something wrong with your device! Not even my PRS-600 was that bad, and the 650 should be lots better (the 350 certainly is).
(The 600 gave me 3-4 days of reading, maybe 1500 page turns and no complete power-off during those days.)

What I would most like to see is some way to connect to the library without a computer, should they decide to go for WiFi (as I suppose they will)

We (350 and 650) go around 10 days up to two weeks with allways on stand-by and really lots of reading. It depends if I am "steal" reading, meaning a couple of minutes here and there or for hours in a row.

They may all be flukes, but the PRS-600 has done similar things with the original and the replacement from Sony repair.

The PRS-650 does it often enough to not be a fluke. I use a wall charger most of the time. Most of the time it works normally but from time to time it will go from four bars when disconnecting the cord to zero to two bars the next time I turn it on. Of course it happens most often as I'm leaving on an 18 hour flight.

After my experience with Sony repair on the PRS-600 I'm just living with it.

Oh, but naturally! If it would only happen once in the life of the device, it would be then!

Oh that su**s! And a once in a lifetime experience is more than enough, this is true. I am just having my first and my last. Next time I'll be wiser and won't bother with them but just buy a new one. Sony CS would even drive Job nuts.

Have you updated the firmware yet?

I haven't had any problems like this with my Sonys. But I'm going to take your example and use it as my excuse to own multiple readers.

Mine lasts 12-14 days pretty consistently, and I read anywhere from 1-3 hours daily, and never turn it off (I leave it in sleep mode when not in use).

I don't think my 350 has gone below 2 bars even after 2 weeks of reading 1-4 hours/day.

As far as new model features, would love an unbreakable screen (although I'm sure there's a way to do it and the first time I wasn't careful, I'd find out the hard way how to do it), and I wouldn't complain if they added an expansion slot to the 350. But honestly, the internal memory is enough, I've read of slow down issues when accessing the memory cards, and I have a feeling I really wouldn't use it. I wouldn't care about audio either, I have a tiny mp3 player I could add audio books onto that would work out much better because it's only 2"x1.5"x.5" thick, or my cell phone I could use.

But I wouldn't want to change the size of the 350 at all, unless of course they managed to make it smaller yet.

Exactly... Would Love an Iphone or Samsung Minitabliet but With Eink...... 4 inch or 3.7 inch screen....... But alas.... Doubt it would be that popular... Would make one myself if I could.... I Only want a small ereader... Have a regular phone and no need for internet since I get it at home/work enough.... Plus my phone can do all that if need be...Please Sony/PB/ Cybook...bring out your 3.7.... rather than your Dead....
