Here is a new rough for first step. If you like the image, the photographer, Rakusu must be notified and credited when using the photo for any public work. So we would have to contact him, and include the credit for the photo on the cover page of your ebook. Here is a link to the image.
I love both these covers, Roxy. I'll contact Rakusu. I just have to create a login on stock.xchng. The other image doesn't look to me like it has any usage restrictions, so I think it's good to go.

Thank you so much for your help. Those covers look 1000% better than anything I've been able to come up with.

I like Roxy's work a lot.

I use GIMP for all of mine too. There's a lot of tutorials on youtube for doing things on GIMP that can give you some ideas . . . if you don't mind learning from 10yr olds.

Wikimedia Commons has a lot of public domain pics too.
