Yeah well I bet my fan can fight 10 of your fans.

Actually, I'm not sure how old you are or what your social background is, but council estate schools in the late 70s/early 80s didn't really care about kids who were too "difficult" to teach. They were segregated from "normal" kids and left to sink. Just as the government left them to sink when they left school too, but you really don't want me to get started on that one.

Oh, I entirely agree with you. I went through the secondary school system in the 1970s (fortunately an excellent comprehensive school) and I know exactly what you mean. It still makes to shudder, though, to think that so many people have been let down by "the system" in such a way.

I once got fan/thanks-email for a howto on reconfiguring Win9x bootup for DOS games.
(nothing world-moving 't was that the DOS side of the tweaking wasn't known to the win9x kids generation)

It was from Australia.
I was so smashed by the fact that my 'lil bit of "the best way to do it" travelled so far...
and kind of deeply moved by the honest thankfulness of the reaction. *sniff*
