What I love about my PB360 is how comfortable it is to hold it in both left and right hands and the custom Sheep Theme was a dream come true. On the other hand, I had loved my PRS505 before I got the PB360. The metal body was sleek and strong and even when my 2-year-old niece accidentally stood on it once, nothing happened, no crack, no break. Sorry for the ranting! ![]() Last edited by mimosavj; 04-08-2011 at 01:55 PM. |

I have to highly disagree. LRF is in no way at all better then ePub. LRF is quite slow when dealing with embedded fonts. ePub is not slow at all with embedded fonts. Also, because you can strip the DRM from ePub, you can easily modify them to fit how you like your ePub to look including the fonts you want to use. Also, if you were to switch readers or want to read on a different (non-Sony) device, you'd be screwed because LRF is Sony only.
So really, LRF is dead. Let it stay dead. |

I was hesitant to get the Sony too. But the recent price drops were enough to push me into trying it. It's a little more work than the Pocketbook to get the format right, yesterday I started a new book that had HUGE margins. If you use Calibre and know how to strip DRM, it's easy to fix, I just convert to LIT format and then back to EPUB. But I really do like the way EPUB displays books better than the FBReader, I just couldn't stand the page numbers. The first book I read on the Sony, I was able to fix the margin problem by using the "reduce margins" setting on the Sony.
I had the PRS-600 originally, and really didn't like it. The page turns were slow, the glare was awful, and the ADE implementation was clunky (I REALLY hated the page numbers on the side). This one has solved those problems. No more page numbers, the glare is the same as the Pocketbook, and the screen really is THAT MUCH better. No ghosting that I can see, much better contrast, and personally, I really like the touchscreen interface. No more scrolling through menus. Especially looking up a word in the dictionary, just double-tap, and there it is! Page turning is faster than the Pocketbook as well. I had some concern with fingerprints on the screen, but I haven't really noticed. The worst problem is that when you do get something on the screen, you can't just wipe it off, or you end up turning the page. |

I guess I'll give the Sony a try when it is on sale again. It's very interesting that most stores in this city won't carry Sony products anymore. The other day, my husband wanted to impress me so much that he dragged me to a Best Buy & a Target trying to find a new PRS 350 for me, LOL, Best Buy claimed that their Sony ereader selection was dwindling due to the popular Kindle and Nook and Target stopped carrying Sony ereaders altogether due to the same reason. |

It is easy. I'm not that picky about my book formatting, so all I do is de-DRM, convert to LIT, and then convert back. Fairly painless. I've only read 4 books so far, and of the 4, I only had to do this on one of them. I'm not sure what overall percentage of books are actually "broken".
As far as comfort, the Sony is actually smaller than the pocketbook, same height, but narrower. I have the book cover with light, but I'm going to trade it in for the non-lighted version, because the light makes it so heavy. By the way, I notice from your last post that you're female -- the pink version is VERY pretty. I highly recommend it. |

I am actually waiting for the Pink one to be on sale. I do love Pink and that Pink color is so attractive that I rather wait and have it (who knows, my beloved husband might get one for me, hihi) than have the silver one.
Thank you so much, Serena, for the information. |

I had the PB360 prior to getting the PRS650. I love the 650 by comparison. I find the flash to be less and the page turns faster then the PB360. I also love the pearl screen and the touch screen is great. So much nicer. I find with touch screen I don't notice the flash as much. One thing I really like abou the 650 is it just works. I found I was often having issues with my pocketbook so I'd end up losing my page etc and I never loved reading with it. I loved the idea of it but didn't love it. I am much happier now. We still have a PB360 in the house which belongs to my dh but he doesn't really like it so rarely uses it. I think I'm going to load it up with books for my oldest son who turns 10 this summer.

I have the Sony pink cover for my 350 & I like it. I did add a ponytail colored hairband to keep it shut. I just feel safer in case I drop it. It is like the M-Edge Trip Jacket. Unfortunately M-Edge does not make them for the 350. I wrote & asked about it. Hopefully if more people do they may decide to.

Hi
I don't know if anyone wants this cover version that I found on ebay today and if the deal is that good. I ordered one. Hopefully it's the Standard Cover that I want. ![]() http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_500wt_1156 |

I have both a pb360 and a Sony 650 and I much prefer the Sony. I read with it while I nurse and the touch screen is wonderful to read with either hand. The screen is so nice too and keeps calling me back.
