Why would high definition be important for an e-reader?

I suspect it is purely HD in name, but it is supposed to have 768x1024 resolution and higher contrast than any current devices. This would help in reading stuff like comics, or viewing mechanical drawings.
Anyway, in the end I've gone for the kindle, with a view to getting a nook or similar device in the future for reading magazines and coloured graphic novels. |

Specs found online at various sites. There is also a showcase video from one the trade shows where the person making the video asks those specific questions, and the rep gives the spec and states LG as the manufacturer. Of course we have to wait and see when/if it actually comes out.

That I haven't seen and thanks for mentioning it. I'll have to hunt the interview video down unless you have a link.
I've perused specs but haven't seen anything indicating the screen manufacturer or specific type mentioned. |
