You have to associate pain with your reading. So I suggest attaching some kind of buzzer or electrocuting device to your reader. You may also want to stick needles on the page turn buttons. You'll either end up hating reading, or you will develop some weird masochistic fetish.

Missed option #3: Give up sleep... after a while you go psychotic and don't need books because you have your own imaginary worlds and friends... mind you, I've got nothing against option #2 except tot size

Turns out the book I was reading at that time sucked from start to finish. What a waste of time! I learned though...I dropped off reading two more books that were snoozers. I'm old enough (and jaded enough) to give up on any hopes of things getting better...
