I'd suggest
<span class="emphasis">emphatic text</span> <span class="foreign">foreign text</span> <span class="booktitle">name of a book</span> <span class="othertexttype">other text that may need to be typographically distinct</span> I suppose you could use <em>...</em> for the first one. But for longer-term usefulness, mark up italics for meaning rather than typographically. |
