Thanks for the replies. Now that I know that these are KePub files and encrypted, how does Kobo display these files? I tried to view them in Calibre and by clicking on each html and they do not display properly...it's all garbled (encrypted).

The Kobo decrypts those files using keys unknown to us. They are locked and only viewable via the Kobo device itself.
