And in the Marines, out in the field, where the testosterone is flowing freely there is very little that is off limits so discussions of wives and girlfriends were often brought up by the person whose wife/girlfriend it was. Although, to be honest, I've had conversations in the Marine Corps that would get me kicked out of most places in the civilian world, or labeled as some sort of deviant.

*What is it that butchers do in plying their honourable and respectable trade that is such that it is fair to them to call what we did to your question "butchery"?

We would call such a person a Nosy Parker, or Nose Box.

We would use the term Nosey as well as rude, depends on the question though.

I still am not sure how to understand said term in detail:

are embarassing questions meant, which the asking person has no right to ask? or all of such (e.g. I believe a pharmacist asking about drug abuse during job interview has a comprehensible interest in doing so, regardless how embarassing it IS)

I understood the OP to mean that they wanted to know how to stop question that they didn't think were appropriate for someone to ask. So embarrassing isn't really covered, but then a lot of inappropriate questions tend to embarrass.
