This one time, at band camp, I was reading a book and next morning I found out that kid next to me pulled my bookmark from the book, so I had to start the book from the beginning.

Since then I have sworn to myself never to touch paperback books again! No fun reading the same book twice in a row

Then I discovered an amazing device that for $8 allows me to read in the full sun light. I'm here to let you fine folks also benefit from my knowledge. Turns out these devices have been on sale longer than the iPad original, let alone the iPad 2.
Paper is still lovely. I turned my paperback into an iPad by gluing $500 to it and then throwing it away.

Why do you guys use cellphones when you could use landline phones?

Why do you use microwave food, didn't your mom teach you to cook?

Why do you use a car to go from point A to point B? Why don't you use a horse for that?

Seriously unseriously guys, if you prefer paper books then why bash on ereaders?

Huh? They're joking around about how you can't read an iPad in sunlight and how to solve that. It's amusing. Not sure what "bashing" you're talking about.

Didn't mean it to come out negatively Original post was about replacing iPad for paper book, but it went into comparing ereader to paper book in a funny way.

There's always the hood approach, where you drape a black cloth over your head and iPad as if you're focusing a large format camera, lol.

I started taking the iPad while having a counter lunch and reading the paper on it. I have to chose tables carefully because they have open ceilings and the light relfects. The next time I go and order a steak I'll ask for an extra table cloth.

What?! Who's bashing ereaders? We're having a bit of fun. I love my iPad. It doesn't do "outside in the bright sun" at all, but that doesn't bother me as I _almost_ never read outside in the bright sun.

Soooo...since I'm going on a little beach vacation, I can just BUY A BOOK. It will suit me just fine for the 3 days out of the year when I really desire to read in the sunlight.

Kind of expensive toy this paper book. If it costs $8 for three days then a whole year supplement will cost you $949.

I don't know... the cost of these Paperback things is pretty misleading...

The Paperback itself only holds one book. I have seen some models holding several books, but they are incredibly thick and heavy. It also comes with no extra features. If you want to take notes or highlight passages, you need to buy extra accessories like the Pen and Highlighter. Even marking where you left off isn't automatic and they gouge you on bookmarks. Some of them cost more than the Paperback!

And then there's the screen... it's SO flimsy. I could break it easily. I'm sure some of you will be defending the Paperback by saying "oh, but they use hundreds of screens so if you break one you won't ruin all the rest." I'd rather have one nice screen that will last!

What about when a new model of Paperback comes out? What if you want to upgrade? They say DRM on the popular ebook readers is bad, but you can't transfer your purchases at all on these! What if you drop your Paperback in the bath? I suppose with the draconian DRM on these things, it's good that they only store one book per device.

Who in their right mind would ever want one of these? Even the worst eBook reader is better than the Paperback!
