Don't get the 600. The screen is terrible! I found the glare and clarity ruined the reading experience. Why get an eink screen if it is not good to read on?

The Pocketbook IQ 701 is an excellent choice if you can live with LCD. It certainly would be better to read on compared to the 600.

If you need something cheap, you might want to look into the Kobo wifi (not the old one). However, the Sony 650 or 950 are your best bets. Actually the Kindle DX is, but out of your price range.

Zooming in eInk is almost as terrible as the PRS-600 screen. Seriously, I completely ditched my Pocketbook 360 for manga. Getting a PRS-600 means bad zoom + sucky screen, so I wouldn't touch it with a stick if I were you.

You'll have to make a trade-off: large screen eInk device or smaller screen backlit device. Zooming in eInk is terrible, and their capacities for image managing are not good either. eInk is simply not designed to see images, but mere text.
