According to an email from James at Langtree they have produced their books in ePub, but a waiting on a retailer.

This was soooo good. You will like it if you have a slightly warped sense of humor. I have to say it was one of the most unusual mysteries I have read. Some twists to it and it was good right down to the last sentence, which was just priceless. lol

I was reading about Hull at the Langtail Press website and this pretty much says it all:

A bold experimenter, Hull often used the first person and peopled his books with unpleasant characters. Although dealing with murder, his novels are generally not of the ordinary detective nature; Hull instead specialized in unusual approaches to narrative. An intriguing and innovative crime novelist...

And this was only his first book.

And wouldn't you know, this is the only book they have out by him so far.

I am part way through Elizabeth Ferrars Enough to Kill a Horse, one of her stand alone mystery novels published in 1955. It's a rather slim book, originally 185 pages apparently (and the Kindle edition has pages numbers), so it's a quick read even for the $3.99 price. Best news is that it's better formatted than most "commercial" books I buy: proper indents, no paragraph line spacing, full justification, chapter breaks, table of contents, italics ... very nice. It speaks volumes, if I may put it that way, for the care the Langtail Press folks have lavished over these long out of print titles.

I've read quite a few Langtail Press books now - they have been uniformly well formatted & proofed - a reading pleasure! I hope more titles are coming soon.

Nice to hear about the formatting. It seems that all of the books are pretty short.

I note that many of your authors have titles being currently published in paperback format only by Rue Morgue Press – which has stridently opposed creating ebook versions of their inventory, and which has publicly denounced Amazon’s selling practices. Is there any possibility that your press could partner with Rue Morgue and produce the ebook versions of titles currently held ONLY by Rue Morgue? These include works by John Dickson Carr, Gladys Mitchell, Sheila Pim, Manning Coles, and many others. I realize that negotiating for electronic publishing rights is currently a minefield, but such an endeavor would bring these wonderful Golden Age classics to an even wider readership

I hope Mr. Prichard is successful in negotiating ebook publication rights for mysteries now published by companies that are reluctant/refuse to produce ebook editions (Rue Morgue, Felony & Mayhem, Crippen & Landru among others). Poisoned Pen Press has begun offering ebook editions of some of their titles on Amazon.

I hope you like it. His books are very hard to find, even used. I managed to find Keep It Quiet in used paperback and just ordered that.
