10-20 other than my Pre-loads which I keep hidden most of the time. Usually I don't like to keep a lot of books on it, it just makes it harder to find the one you want to read. Plus I've deleted a lot of the Pre-loaded books

It's not always a matter of choice. Sometimes all the library holds come in at once, and since there are time limits on those books, I try to read them right away.

I have 167 (including the 100 free ones) and it takes maybe 10 seconds to bring up the "Books" menu.

So far I have all my Kobo kepubs, but only put a couple of my ADE epubs at a time on the reader. They're mostly library books and expire.

I bought mine about a month ago, and at present it's loaded with 96 books (in addition to the 100 it came with). Most of the books are free ones, but a dozen or so are purchased and a couple of them are library books. I'm starting to wish now that I had a way to organize them on the reader, as I'm finding that I've forgotten the plots of many of them! (I'm thinking of making a PDF with plot summaries and storing it on the reader).

The majority of them are classic scifi, with a dab of horror and scientific non-fiction tossed in.

You could try Calibre - it allows you to organise them on your computer, download descriptions and tags (or create your own). And you can then output a file of your Catalog (in PDF, EPUB or other formats) - and you can customise a lot of the options for the catalog file too.

I have about 240 ebooks on my Kobo, though I have only purchased two ebooks from the Kobo store. The rest are collected from the net and the local library (DRM stripped out) I sideload the files, and the Kobo adds them to the database no problem. calibre works well loading files to the Kobo.

I dont think that 'collected' is the proper term if you have gotten them from the library and stripped the DRM. unless you delete them from the device once you have read them.

Baronrus - thanks for your idea to delete the ebooks from my library. The only reason for removing DRM is to keep them longer than the two week limit. But I will delete them, I think that there are only two library books in my library.

I have about 30 free books right now but I don't travel with it. I still tend to use my iPad. I'm still have to figure out how to use it with my brand spankin' new Library card. And by a SD card for additional space.

Last count was 229, but that includes some university handouts converted to EPUB (so I'll actually read them!) and news feeds. It does not include the 100 free books lost in an unexpected crash of my Kobo, but any in that list I really wanted to read have been downloaded from Gutenberg. Actually I was glad to get rid of them as a lot were never going to be read unless I happened to be marooned on a desert island (with a power supply) for about 6 months.
