In addition to the Sony online book store, there is also Google ebookstore and Books on Board that sell Adobe DRM ePub files that you can load on the Kobo using Adobe Digital Editions.

I suspected that. I know that only a Kindle really worked with Amazon going in but that is okay. I'll be satisfied with B&N, Borders, Kobo, Gutenberg, my library, feedbooks, etc. If Amazon wants to be jerks and not offer ePub, I'll just get my books elsewhere, no reason to court trouble or make things complicated.
