Safari is very fast. I imagine that any apps that haven't already taken advantage of the new safari will very soon.
Also my orientation lock switch is back! A few apps that were prone to crashing due to memory leaks also seem more stable despite no actual update to the apps themselves (they still crash, just not as often) |

Speaking of IOS 4.3, I just signed up for the teathering data plan from ATT for my Iphone 4. Tested it with my Ipad and it is twice as fast as 3G. I did lose my unlimited data plan however but I get 4GB a month with the new plan and have never gotten close to that ammount. Even with my iPad plan I never came close to 2GB a month. With cancelling my Ipads 3G plan I am saving $10 per month. Plus I will not need to purchase a 3G iPad 2 tomorrow. More savings. I know I could have jailbroken the phone and got free tethering but I am not really comftorable doing that.

The return of the orientation lock is very welcome even if it was idiotic to remove it in the first place, but I did have some audio weirdness in some apps after the upgrade and had to switch back to mute for that switch, toggle it again and then return to orientation lock.
Home sharing is a good addition even if it should have been in there in the first place and doesn't seem to display podcasts from your machine very logically. Safari does seem a bit quicker, although I didn't use it that heavily in the past. |

FFS... i only wanted the update for the multi-touch multi-tasking gestures, and they took them out for the consumer. They're only available at the developer level.

I read a couple of postings on CNet about people having difficulty installing the update for their iPad1 using Windows 7 64bit. I will be getting my Windows XP 32 bit machine back next week, so am thinking of waiting to do the install using it. Anyone else with Windows 7/64 bit have problems?

You say they took them out; so was it actually a part of 4.2.1? |

I became a an Apple developer today. It was free. Just had download Xcode to my Mac and connected my iPad to it and selected "Use for Development" and now I have multi-gestures. And I have to admit it is pretty cool.

I don't see any problems or performance increase at the moment, but I only upgraded it yesterday. I'm more interested in the return of the rotation lock option on the switch as opposed to any thing else.

My reading apps seem about the same, but web surfing is snappier. I found web surfing quite fine even before that. So I'm quite happy with the update. The orientation lock is nice to have too. I had gotten my iPad after they took that away and had hoped they would return that option back which was nice to see.
