Updated to 2.5.8 from 2.5.7 - Kindle 2 B003. Nothing is changed at first look.

That is too bad, I was hoping this update gave us the option to have page numbers.

Even if they have added the Page Numbers feature you need to buy new books or so with included Page Numbers to show it. Or am I wrong? Is Page Numbers info is downloaded for all existing books when Syncing (I don't believe this)?

If the page numbers are available, you do not need to re-purchase it just re-download it. At least that is the way it is in kindle for pc so I assume it is the same for kindles.

I wouldn't get too excited about ever having the Page Numbers feature on 2.x.x devices. The only updates we're likely to get are maintenance in nature. Plus, an update that only increments that very last digit (2.5.5/6/7 -> 2.5.8) is not going to contain new "features."

Installed 2.5.8 today. Charged fully afterwards, then did a restart - I normally do that after a charge.

All collections gone - and I had 40 odd! Not impressed.

Restarted again - no change.

Fortunately I'd copied the drive earlier today just-in-case, so I copied all files back over, restarted again and got them back.

Still not impressed though.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Nope. I installed 2.5.8 just fine without incident. I even have the jailbreak and screensaver hack loaded and no issues whatsoever occurred after the update.

Does anyone have the link to the screensaver hack? I had it on my first Kindle (that broke last month). I would like to change the screensavers on my replacement K2 which I have just updated to 2.5.8.

Your help is much appreciated.
