All of the feedback to my post makes sense -and were all well thought out btw- if all of those changes are easy software fixes. My only critique is to those who are upset it is not a full blown tablet. I hope they do support this product, and have enough sense to realize what an opportunity they have with it, and not get too scared that people are going to use it for a purpose that will make less money for them.

I think the best bet will for amazon to create a device that competes with it so that competition will hopefully lead to better prices and a better product.

Moto doesn't need to apologize. It is looking like the Zoom will be available at Sam's club in a wi-fi only version for $539. I think that competes quite nicely vs. the ipad2. I know if I was going to spend ~$500 on a tablet, I would choose the Zoom over the ipad2.

BUT, I am very happy I chose to spend $250 on my Nookcolor!

Edit: I do agree that for $800, Motorola, Verizon, and anyone else trying to sell the Zoom at that price needs to apologize. Apple at least needs to pay its software engineers for the IOS software! Google is providing Android for free!!!!! Something doesn't add up when you see an $800 price tag.

EDIT 2: to bring this back to the topic: I think the B&N app store may make the NookColor an even better buy at $250 (or $200)!

Wifi only version is $600, not $800 (or even $539 as jasoraso pointed out). The activation requirement is just not true.
