Thanks much!

The space restrictions of the Nook simple touch are not such a big problem as some people make it out to be.
First of all the 238MB available for side-loaded books on the Nook simple touch is enough for some 250 books. If you want to keep more side-loaded books on your Nook you can buy a 4GB micro-SD card for less than $10, with space for more than 4000 side-loaded books.

As someone who has both the Nook simple touch and the Nook classic in my opinion the Nook simple touch is the better ereader. The touch screen makes using the erader a lot easier and it is very fast. The lighter weight and the small form factor make it easier to hold and take with you.

Contact Jetbook (Ectaco). There is a one year warranty on your device. I purchased a Jetbook from an Amazon vendor. When I had a problem, I contacted Ectaco directly and was able to take advantage of my one year warranty. I did provide my purchase receipt showing it had been purchased from the Amazon vendor.

I did think about that, but I'd say 60% of the books I have are not from B&N and I've heard of issues with storing those books on the SD card. (reader not always picking it up and not saving last read page ...)

It's probably worth taking a look at the Kobo again. If you can find a Wifi it would likely be in the $100 or less range, although (and this comes from someone who isn't (wasn't?) a touch-screen fan), it's likely worth the extra $ for a Kobo Touch ($129 ish in the U.S. I think). The new firmware upgrades have really improved on the shipped firmware in terms of options and usability (current is 1.9.5 -- if you're checking a store demo model make sure it's got this or you're not getting a real feel for the Kobo).

I replaced my Nook Classic with the new simple touch and it is IMO a no briner that the new Nook is far superior. It is easier to use, lighter, nicer to hold, has much longer battery life, better eink screen etc.. I think it is clearly worth an extra 20, 30, or 40 bucks.

I passed on my classic to my daughter (13) and she has already ready 15 books this summer. We share the same B&N account so we have access to all the same content, no need to use lending feature within the family.

I have an SD card on the NST and over 300 books side loaded from Calibre. In the 6 weeks I have owned the NST I have had the issue where the side loaded books are not recognized ONCE, I restarted the Nook and have not seen the issue again and did not loose my page number, so in my experience it is not really an issue. I expect that to be addressed in a future update.

I have only seen the ghosting issue once as well.

Just thought I would provide some anecdotal input.
