It's not really strong enough to be a fear, but...

...obsolete technology positively spooks me. Reading a wikipedia article on punch cards freaks me out more than any ghost story ever could.

Careful, taunting obsessive-compulsives is not a game for amateurs. We have spent 45 years playing it. Like i said, she finds my "adjustments" within minutes because she expects it.

We almost convinced them to move in with us last year. We could keep pulling them out of their shells, and i would have loved to have her obsessive house cleaning around this place! :rotfl:

In a former life I have unloaded everything, (and I mean everything) and started over on at least two occasions. My wife, on the other hand, has never thrown anything away in the twenty five years I've known her.

Wondering where your toolbox is can also occur when it’s been assimilated with all the other junk!

When I was in the Navy, I had a friend who had been forced to do an extra 18 month tour before they would let him retire. Dave owned a house in Idaho, and his wife had a lucrative job there, so he was living as a “geographical bachelor” in San Diego. He once told me that if they gave him 10 minutes to get out the gate and he could retire, he’d be gone!

I said, “But Dave, it would take you longer to get your stuff out of your room than that!”

He said, “I’d just leave it, after all it’s just stuff, I can get more stuff.”

That was an epiphany for me, after all it’s just stuff!

I have a rather wierd one... When I'm driving on the Motorway/Highway, and when I'm in the space between two lamposts, I give my cheek a little bite, but I can only do it if there are no cars coming in the other direction occupying the same space between the lamposts. Used to drive me crazy, but I've mostly overcome it now

You know, that sounds really very weird but it's just that kind of weird habit I've been likely to develop most of my life. I'm more watchful of myself these days but without that watchfulness I'd be a wreck.

When I was a kid, it used to be mushrooms growing in the wild - hated them. If I ever saw them from a distance I was ok, could prepare myself, but if they ever jumped into my field of vision... Anyway, I got over it.

At the moment I'm playing mind games with my wife, who is absolutely convinced (mostly by herself) that I am afraid of cows. I'm not *that* afraid, just as long as they stay in the field out of my way, and are not planning world domination....
