That's been my experience too. I get almost all my books from Amazon, and very few have not had the cover art included. This includes books from both major publishers and indies.

mewmartigan, just to double-check, when you're inside an ebook on your Kindle and press the Menu button, then select "Go to," are you given the option that says "Cover"? If so, you don't get the cover art when that's selected? Some publishers will include both the cover art and a title page. In those cases, you usually have to page-back beyond the title page in order to see the actual cover art.

As I said in another thread, it amazes me that the cover shows on the app but not on the Kindle. Am I to understand that I can take the AZW and run it through Calibre just adding the cover and itll come out properly?

I know some people don't care about it.
Personally I don't care but I do know that some publishers are taking ebook cover art seriously. Ender's Game has a special cover only found on the ebook that is pretty nice.

You can see the cover art. You can choose to move to the cover and see the art or you can move the joystick to the right when you are on that book and it will show you the cover and options for what to do with the book, add/remove from collection, remove from device, and read are the available options that I can think of off the top of my head. So if there is a cover attached to the ebook you can see it.
