IMO it actually needs to exist before it has a real impact.
![]() I will say that I believe it gets a little closer to a device that can work very well in an education market. However, battery life will need to improve drastically; you don't want your notepad and books to conk out during 6th period.... |

How do I turn pages?
With stylus in hand? I looked at the pictures and I haven't seen big friendly page-turning buttons conveniently under the thumb like modern readers have. |

I don't get why this is better than the Nook Color. Why is greyscale LCD supposed to be an advantage? I mean, doesn't the NC show books in B&W as well? It's not like it colorizes them...
Indeed, I remember back in the early days of PCs, people had Green and Amber monitors because supposedly they were easier on the eyes than B&W ones (Amber ones anyway). Though I doubt they actually were. For $200, I would expect something a lot better. Aren't there already cheap B&W LCD e-readers? Like $100 or under? |

Think of it as a greyscale tablet optimized for reading and note taking. Personally, I'll be more interested in a color model. I used to use an Amdek amber monitor on my old PC, connected to a Hercules graphics card. (I still have the old PC on a shelf, but no longer have the monitor.) ______ Dennis |

If your requirements don't include reflective display, 12+ hr battery life, Wacom Stylus note taking(or sketching) and a camera to take pictures during lectures etc for under $200, which appears to be the case since you don't get it, than for you it's not better. For others it is. |

I'm interested, but can't justify another purchase at the moment. But down the road, yes, very interested. I've had good luck in the past with Wacom tech (including an 8-year old Graphire tablet with stylus+mouse that still works great), and I'd use it as a digital notepad, not an ereader. If it last 3 years, that's about 18 cents a day to put an end to the miscellaneous notepads I have all over the house. I constantly take notes about various things.

I think "less than $200" is a bargain for an 8" reader with a Wacom screen/stylus and camera. That being said, from the reviews I've read, it seems to need a little more maturation in terms of its UI, but I'll definitely be keeping my eye on it. |

I just bought a PB 602 which is nice but I might've waited for this to mature had Asus not canceled its earlier projects.
Seems like a great device for those of us that work with pdf files. For the casual reader, I don't see a $60 advantage. |

I think it'd be completely interesting to have an ebook reader with such great note taking programs. I'm addicted to list making.
But even if this were in my price range, I wouldn't go buy one right now. I'd wait until my Kindle was broken/in need of being replaced. And by then, who knows what will be out? |
