Man that's incredibly cheap for import fees... A fifth of the value !
I don't know how you have it in the UK but here it would be much more...
Let's say the device is 325$ plus 75$ for FedEx is 400$, then IF the customs officers take notice (unlucky me) it gets taxed with standard sales tax (23%) like everything else, which is applied to the shipping cost as well as the cost of the device, then comes the import fee which can be anywhere from 0% to 30% depending on the type of the good (and more for cigarettes, coffee and the like), and which is applied to the sum of the product value + shipping + tax (everything is cumulative), and then additional fees for temporary storage and shipping and handling and whatnot in the customs process. Depending on the cost of the shipping, the type of the good and it's base value, the end cost can sometimes be more then double the cost in the US.

pffff....that's a ridicolusly high amount of money!!!

Well what do you expect for international importing ?
Stapler was really lucky, I can't believe a fifth of the value is the norm in the UK...
Importing is expensive anywhere...
